Oats are quite popular among many people now a day who are health conscious.  But many of you may not be aware that it is also a great source of dietary fiber.  If you want to have a healthier heart, we would suggest you to add Oat in your breakfast table regularly.  Half cup or Oat Bran contain around 3 grams of fiber where as 1 cup of cooked oatmeal contains 4 grams of soluble fiber.  Study done by Louisiana State University showed that Oatmeal breakfast makes you feel full for a longer time and helps in controlling weight gains.Oats Fiber

Why is Oat Good For You?

Oats can fulfill your fiber needs which is around 25 to 30 grams daily.  When you take processed food often, your body finds it difficult to process it.  Adding Oats to your daily meal will help you meet the fiber needs to good extent.  The fiber in the oats helps bring the cholesterol levels to a healthy range and prevents you from overeating.

Therefore not only do you get part of your fiber needs fulfilled, you also get to control your weight along with achieving healthier Cholesterol levels.  The good thing about Oats is, it is not a pure fiber unlike the Psyllium which makes it almost tasteless.  Oats has its own taste which makes it easier to eat and enjoy.

How to Take Oats Everyday?

I have many friends who eat Oats almost daily.  The secret to having Oats daily is to buy small packets which can be just put in a glass of warm water or milk and consumed almost instantly.  That way there is no efforts on cooking or preparation.  It also does not need any cleaning time.

If you want to make it tastier, you can try out various flavors of Oatmeal such as Apple Cinnamon or try out other flavors and decide which one is best suited to your taste buds.  You could also add some almond flakes or flaxseeds to improve it food value and taste.

I also suggest adding some boiled and salted vegetables and tossing it on a pan with little olive oil.  This takes more effort but it will definitely add variety to the Oat taste.  Sometimes you could also add an egg or two on the side to make it a wholesome meal or breakfast.  If you take Oat everyday, I can guarantee that your weight will remain at a healthy levels.

One Warning – Avoid sugar added milk while having oats.  The sugar will add up to the calories quickly and nullify the health gains you can expect.
